Terminal, an engineering company co-founded by Joe Lonsdale, Jack Abraham and CEO Dylan Serota, has acquired Stationed, an AI startup based in Miami and founded by Ja'dan Johnson.

The deal forms the foundation of Terminal AI, a new division focused on helping midmarket companies put artificial intelligence to work. Johnson will lead the division and oversee engineers who work directly with businesses to develop and deploy AI systems.

Terminal AI plans to send engineers into organizations to build working solutions. These forward-deployed engineers will work alongside company leaders to identify opportunities, automate processes and integrate AI agents into daily operations.

Stationed had already deployed AI agents for companies across several industries. Johnson started by organizing workshops that introduced business leaders to emerging AI tools. Terminal was founded in 2017.

The Florida angle

Stationed is a Miami-based company. Johnson, who moved to South Florida after years of organizing developer events, founded Miami Hack Week. The event brought together thousands of technologists and entrepreneurs and drew support from investors and companies including Atomic, Founders Fund and SoftBank.

Terminal AI currently has approximately 10 employees, with another 10 positions open. Johnson said the company is recruiting engineers in Miami to work from its Wynwood office, and that it plans to keep hiring.
