Brickell-based TrustedRouter has raised a $6 million seed round led by Sierra Ventures, six weeks after its public launch.
A router sits between a business and the AI models it uses. It sends each request to the model that fits the cost, speed and privacy the job needs. TrustedRouter gives developers access to hundreds of models through one connection, and its routing code is open source.
Privacy is the pitch. For some open-weight models, the company offers end-to-end encryption and verifiable confidential computing, so neither TrustedRouter nor the data center can read prompts or answers.
Founder Joseph Perla is a former Facebook engineer and early Lyft hire. An earlier $1.25 million seed round had already drawn hundreds of customers, many in legal, finance and healthcare.
Why it matters for Florida
Regulated industries need to know who can see their data when they use AI. A Miami startup built around that question now has venture backing, and it competes in a category where OpenRouter has agreed to sell to Stripe for a reported $7.5 billion.
