Councilman Oscar A. De La Rosa was raised and grew up in Hialeah. He is a graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations before obtaining his Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law. Adding to his job as a City of Hialeah Councilman, Oscar De La Rosa is an attorney at De la Rosa Law, founded by himself in 2019., which specializes in Real Estate Development, Zoning and Land Use matters. He is an active Florida Real Estate Broker and focuses his main attention on real estate development issues and finding solutions to improving responsible development.
Oscar De La Rosa is also the President of Little Steps Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that was founded to help low-income families and helping provide affordable housing for impoverished families. He is the currently the representative for the City of Hialeah at the Miami-Dade County Transportation Planning Organization, Vice-Chair of the Transportation & Mobility Committee and is currently a board member on the Miami-Dade County Affordable Housing Advisory Board. Through his public and private roles, Oscar is constantly advocating for affordable, resilient and attainable housing throughout Miami-Dade County as well as finding new solutions towards transit and transportation related issues County wide.
Oscars love of technology, and eagerness to use it to better his home community led him to join FBBA’s Real Estate Committee. By applying blockchain innovation to real estate here in Florida, he believes it could heavily boost investment in Hialeah’s economy.
